10 Hidden Whatsapp Features

10 HIDDEN WHATSAPP FEATURES YOU PROBABLY DIDN'T KNOW

Whether you're just starting to use WhatsApp or are a years-long addict, you're probably missing out on these hidden features.

Today, we are going to uncover these secrets so you can also become a whatsapp power user.

1.Text Styling:

Image result for whatsapp text styling
WhatsApp lets you bold, italicize or strike through text on the fly. To do so, you'll need to add a couple of special characters before and after whatever it is you want to format.
To bold text in WhatsApp, use an asterisk (*bold*);
To italicize text with an underscore (_italicize_);
To create strikethrough text with tildes (~strikethrough~).

2. Star a message

Starring a message creates a convenient way to go back to a phone number, address or article link a friend sent you. Long-press on the message, then tap on the Star icon.
To view your starred messages, on iOS select the Star tab along the bottom of your screen. Android users need to tap on the Menu button, then Starred Messages.

3. Who do you talk to the most?

Curious about who your BFF is on WhatsApp? If you have an iPhone, it's easy to figure out.
Go to Settings > Data and Storage Use > Storage Use. A list of contacts will populate, in order of who is using the most storage on your phone. Tap on each contact to view more detailed stats, such as the number of messages exchanged, images and GIFs.
Android users can go to Settings > Chat > Chat History > Email Chat to view the same info.

4. Get message details

Ever wonder what time a message was delivered or read? Swipe to the left on a message you sent to view those stats on your iPhone. Android users can long-press on a message, then tap on the "info" icon at the top of your screen.

5. Hide your last seen status

Here is another whatsapp hidden feature I personally use. Don't want friends or random contacts to know your "Last Seen" time? Open Settings > Account > Privacy > Last Seen.
WhatsApp provides three options: Everyone, My contacts, Nobody.

6. Disable read receipts

Going one step further, you can disable read receipts in WhatsApp. This will prevent fellow users from knowing you have read a message.
Open Settings > Account > Privacy and uncheck the box next to Read Receipts.
Note: Turning this feature off will also prevent you from seeing when a friend has read your message. Group Chats will still use read receipts, however.

7. Don't save photos, videos by default

If you'd rather not have WhatsApp saving every photo and video you receive to your camera roll, taking up space and cluttering up your own photos, disable autosave.
On an iPhone, open Settings > Chats and turn Save Incoming Media Off.
Android Whatsapp is yet to get this feature

8. Use WhatsApp on a computer

Image result for use whatsapp on computer
Did you know you can use WhatsApp from a computer with relative ease.
The gist of the process involves selecting WhatsApp Web within the mobile app, visiting web.whatsapp.com on your computer, and scanning a QR code on your computer with your phone and viola you can now use whatsapp with your computer.

9. Custom notifications

instead of having the same alert sound for every incoming message, you can set custom alerts for individual contacts. Doing so will make it easier to know who messaged you without looking at your phone.
Android users should tap on the Menu icon when viewing a chat thread, followed by View Contact > Custom Notifications.
For those using WhatsApp on an iPhone, tap on the contact's name when viewing a chat thread, then Custom Notifications.

10. Export a conversation

You can export a conversation should you need to save it. When viewing a conversation, Android users need to tap on the Menu button followed by More > Email Chat.
On an iPhone, the process involves viewing a chat thread, tapping on a contact at the top of the screen, then scrolling to the bottom of the Contact Info page and selecting Export Chat.

Both devices give you the option to export with or without media attached.
All these Hidden feature will make you a Pro User on whatsapp, so which one aren't you using yet? I bet you wont regret using dem

5 Common Android Problems and Solutions

Image result for android problems

Today, we're going to look at the most common problem on android devices and how to fix them all by yourself. Android offers great stability, reliability and protection from malware but sometimes you are going to run into problems.

Thankfully, users can correct 99% of failures with a few simple tips. Here’s a quick rundown of some of the most common problems and how to fix them on your own

1.GOOGLE PLAY STORE CRASHING OR INCOMPLETE DOWNLOADS:
  • Open 'Settings' on your android phone.
  • Go to 'All Apps/Apks'
  • Scroll down to 'Play Store' in the list and select.
  • Click on clear cache and clear data.
  • Restart your Android device.

2. LOW SPACE ON ANDROID:

Image result for low android space
This is a very common problem to most Android devices. If Google Play Store crashes or does not complete downloads, Here is a quick fix to that
Note: If that fails, You can also repeat the same steps for Google play services and Google service framework

This is also a common problems with many Android devices. The best solution to this is to install an app that cleans unwanted and useless files and data. I recommend Clean Master. I've been using it for a very long time now on my device and its great, It frees over 1gb of space every time I use it. That's 1gb of junk files that are useless and not needed.

  • View Storage capacity first and notice it,
  • Install Clean Master
  • Select 'scan junk files' and wait for scanning process
  • After Scanning is done, Click on 'clean' and wait for it to clean. This takes approximately 1minute.
  • Now exit clean master and Check Storage capacity and notice the difference now😌

3. ANDROID NOT READING SD CARD:

This Happens most times. The best way to fix this is to format SD card within android device. To do this follow this steps

  • Open Settings on android phone
  • Select Storage
  • Scroll down to the bottom and select 'format SD card'
  • Confirm that you are formatting SD card.
  • Restart your android device

4. ANDROID PHONE OR TABLET NOT COMING ON:

Your Android phone or tablet has very few buttons. The only way you can turn it on is by pressing the power button — and that isn’t working. Don’t panic! Android devices may sometimes refuse to power on or wake from sleep when you press the power button, but your phone or tablet probably isn’t broken. There are some easy ways to make your device boot again.

  1. Long press the power button for over 30 seconds. If that fails, Remove the Battery, wait a few seconds and put the battery back in then try the power button
  2. You can also try charging the device for sometime before trying to power it on
Any of these solution should work except something foreign may have tampered with it like; Water entering it or exposure to heat.

5. ANDROID PHONE IS STUCK AT LOADING SCREEN:

If your phone comes on but gets stuck at the loading screen or immediately reboots or shutdown after startup, here is a quick fix to that
Note: This should be the last resort cos it involves an hidden internal factory reset which deletes all phone data and files.
  • First, Remove SD card and Sim card
  • Turn the device of completely if its on
  • Try booting it up with one of the following combinations until you're at the factory  screen already:
  • Hold Volume Up + Volume Down + Power.
  • Hold Volume up + Power
  • Hold Volume down + Power
  • Hold Volume Up + Home + Power.
  • Hold Home + Power.
  • Hold Volume Up + Camera button (if available) .
  • if none of these combinations work, try performing a google search for your device factory settings button combination
The desired screen should look like this depending on the phone your using
android-recovery-mode-factory-reset
